About the Artist
Transatlantic are a progressive rock and metal supergroup formed in 1999, bringing together Neal Morse (Spock's Beard), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings) and Pete Trewavas (Marillion). Known for their sprawling, ambitious compositions, the band blend melodic songwriting with the epic scale and technical musicianship of classic progressive rock.

Released in 2009 on Inside Out Music, The Whirlwind marked Transatlantic's return after an extended hiatus and is built around a single side-long, multi-part title suite spanning nearly 78 minutes. The album was widely praised as a triumphant reunion, celebrated for its cohesive songwriting and virtuoso performances, and is often regarded as one of the group's most fully realised works.
