About the Artist
Dare are Darren Wharton's band, the keyboard man who lit up Thin Lizzy's final years before striking out on his own in 1988. They deal in soaring melodic rock built on Wharton's Celtic-tinged melodies and a voice that's aged into something warmer and grittier with every record. When people talk about British melodic rock done with real heart, Dare are near the top of the list.

Blood From Stone finds Dare firing on all cylinders, trading some of the earlier polish for muscle and grit without losing the melodies that made their name. 'Wings Of Fire' kicks the door in from the off, 'Live To Fight Another Day' has that fist-in-the-air resilience they do so well, and 'Real Love' lands the closing punch with plenty of feeling. If you like your rock big, tuneful and played with genuine conviction, this one belongs on your shelf.
